Hidden Deck

Personal files, encrypted.

Keep personal photos, videos and documents in Hidden Deck, an encrypted private library kept apart from your regular library. It opens only with its own 8-digit PIN, separate from your Windows sign-in and from the app PIN. Instead of hunting for a place to hide them, encrypt them: without the PIN their contents can’t be read, and the regular library doesn’t show what’s in it.

Moving an item in encrypts it and deletes the plain copy from your library
Titles, notes, tags and file names are encrypted too, and none appear in the regular library or its search

Kept apart, and encrypted.

Hidden Deck isn’t a folder with a different name. It’s a second library of its own — with its own topics, tags, notes, search and Trash — and everything in it is encrypted.

Not in the menus

Nothing in the menus opens it, and a wrong PIN gets no reaction at all.

Everything encrypted

Files, titles, notes, tags, file names and the search index — AES-256-GCM with a key for every file, made from your 8-digit PIN with scrypt.

No decrypted copies

Thumbnails are made in memory and never written to disk. Photos, videos, music and documents are shown without writing a decrypted copy, and inside it IrisDeck neither opens files in another app nor opens their folder in File Explorer.

One key closes it

Press Esc, or the Hide button inside (handy on a touchscreen), and Hidden Deck closes at once. The window reloads, so nothing from it stays on screen.

Move in without the PIN

Choose items in your main list and remove them from the list. They’re sealed into Hidden Deck, the plain copy in your library is deleted, and they appear there the next time you open it. If that leaves topics empty, IrisDeck asks whether to delete them.

Covered until you look

Inside, photos and videos stay covered until you choose to show them, and its backups stay encrypted too.

Your own way in

Move the way in to any corner, change its size, choose whether it shows at all under the pointer, and set your own opening sequence of 3 to 8 left and right clicks — a tap and a long press on a phone or a touchscreen.

Change the PIN, or delete Hidden Deck

Change the 8-digit PIN whenever you like; everything inside stays as it is. Or delete Hidden Deck and all it holds, for good.

On your phone too

With remote view, open Hidden Deck from your phone the same way — only with its 8-digit PIN, and the PC screen stays as it was.

How to open it isn’t on this site. After you buy IrisDeck, a step-by-step walkthrough in the app (Settings → Help → User guide) shows you how. You create Hidden Deck there or with Settings → Hidden Deck settings… → Create Hidden Deck…, then open it once with its new PIN.

An 8-digit PIN is there to keep out the people around you and anyone who copies your files. Keep it somewhere safe — it’s stored nowhere, so if it’s lost, nobody can open Hidden Deck again.

On your phone, when you need it.

Remote view makes your PC the media server for your own library. Scan a code once, then browse, search and play your photos and videos in your phone’s browser, end-to-end encrypted from your PC — directly on the same Wi-Fi, or from anywhere through our relay with IrisDeck Remote. Nothing to install on the phone, nothing uploaded to a cloud, and no personal information kept by us.

Scan once

Scan a code on your PC with your phone. From then on your library opens in the phone’s browser — no app to install. Browse one file at a time, with autoplay, the files view, video thumbnails and PDF documents, loading only what you see. Pinch to zoom into photos and documents. The phone’s back button closes what you opened, and a dropped connection picks up where you were.

End-to-end encrypted

Files travel encrypted from your PC to your phone. Our free connection service only helps the two find each other; with IrisDeck Remote, our relay carries what it can’t read.

No personal data kept

No account, no connection logs, no copies. Once a connection ends, nothing about you or what you viewed stays with us — only how much was relayed in your billing month, to apply your plan’s monthly relay allowance.

Hidden Deck on your phone

Opening Hidden Deck on the phone asks its 8-digit PIN and leaves the PC screen as it was, so nobody at the PC sees it. On the phone it closes again after 5 minutes without use, when you leave the page, or as soon as the connection drops.

You stay in control

See every paired phone on your PC and unpair any of them at any time. The phone shows whether it’s connected directly or relayed. Remote view is off until you turn it on.

Your PC is the server

Your library never leaves your PC. Keep the PC on with IrisDeck running — it can start in the background when you sign in to Windows — and it’s there whenever you are away.

Remote view comes with IrisDeck over a direct connection, for example on the same Wi-Fi. To reach your PC from anywhere, add IrisDeck Remote, which relays the connection when a direct one isn’t possible: $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year (US prices; the Microsoft Store shows yours). Both plans are available now. The monthly plan starts with one free month; the yearly plan has no free trial. IrisDeck itself is free until December 31, 2026 and a one-time purchase after that, and everything else works without the subscription or an internet connection.

Honest limits

The app PIN

Asked every time you open IrisDeck, but it only locks IrisDeck: files in the regular library aren’t encrypted, and anyone using the PC can open them in the library folder.

Contents, not existence

Encryption protects what is in the files, not the fact that they exist: the size and date of Hidden Deck’s encrypted files can still be seen on disk.

Originals and other copies

After you add files inside Hidden Deck, IrisDeck offers to send their originals to the Windows Recycle Bin; they stay on the PC until the Recycle Bin is emptied. Any other copies or backups stay where they are.

While it’s open

While Hidden Deck is open on screen, anyone at the PC can see it. Encryption can’t protect against malware on the PC.

Your folder, your files

Your library is a folder you choose. Uninstalling IrisDeck leaves it untouched.

One search

Titles, notes, tags and file names across the whole library at once, with words in any order. Accents, capitals and full- or half-width characters don’t matter, and neither does hiragana or katakana.

Notes that connect

Write down why you kept something, and add links to related pages.

Export and backup

Export to folders, make full backups — finished only once every file is in them — restore them, and move the library to another drive.

Library check

Confirm every file is intact, and see exactly what needs attention if one isn’t.

A forgiving Trash

Restore items from the Trash, or delete them permanently when you’re sure.

Autoplay your way

Play in order or at random, once or on repeat, one item or the whole list. Full screen stays as it moves on, and previous and next follow along.

One bar for every video

Volume, speed from 0.0625x to 16x and full screen in one bar that fades while you watch. Space plays and pauses; the up and down arrows set the volume.

Every file on its own

The files view shows each photo and video as its own tile. Choose some to play, export them to a folder, or act on their items. Turn photos and videos, and step from item to item with Page Up and Page Down.

Music and documents

Music plays in the same player as your videos. PDF, text, Markdown and CSV documents open right in IrisDeck, text in older encodings such as Shift_JIS included. Zoom PDFs from 50% to 400% or fit them to the width, and select and copy their text. Other macro-free documents open in their own app.

Move, split, merge

Move files to another item, split some off into a new item, or merge several items into one.

12 languages

Use IrisDeck in English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Polish or Turkish, and switch any time in Settings. Dates and numbers follow your Windows regional format, and Text size sets everything from 90% to 200% (or press Ctrl with + and −, or with the mouse wheel).

Privacy

It stays on your PC.

IrisDeck has no sign-up and no cloud storage, and we keep no personal information about you. Without remote view it works entirely offline. With remote view on, your files go from your PC to your phone end-to-end encrypted, directly or through our relay, and none of them is stored on our side.
